Schubert Performance (1-wheel and FXNUMX carbon division helmet production) factory visit
It takes about 3 hours by rental car from Milan to the company located in Schio (Venice), Italy.
Schio is an industrial area where there are factories for various Italian manufacturers such as Ducati, DeLonghi, and Diesel.
The image of Schuberth helmet is that it is a German manufacturer,
F1 and the four-wheel motorsport division have been Italian from the beginning.
There was a large banner of Max Verstappen on the outside wall of the office.
The first place I arrived was on the third floor of the office, where there were rows of helmets of drivers who were active in F1 races such as the Le Mans Series.
It seems that Michael Schumacher was the first to wear it, but his younger brother Ralf Schumacher was the first to wear it.
Along with the helmets of past Schubert users such as Fernando Alonso, Nico Rosberg, Felipe Massa, Sebastian Vettel, and Carlos Sainz,
Sergio Perez, Nico Hulkenberg, Ricciardo, etc.
The overwhelming amount was Max Verstappen's collection of Redbull F1 team items from various eras, so you could spend half a day looking at them at almost museum level.

Next, we will head to the factory located about 5 minutes away.
Max Verstappen's helmet is also displayed near the entrance of the factory.
My first impression is that the inside is much larger than I expected and very clean.
as a production process
First, cut the carbon sheet with a machine like a plotter.
Carbon sheets are very expensive, especially the 8860 model, which was surprisingly expensive.
The sheets are stored in rolls in the refrigerator. By the way, it is made in Japan.
The carbon sheet had adhesive on the back side.
This is then manually pasted into a carbon mold.
There are many types lined up depending on the model.
It will be split into left and right.
Once the mold has been filled, it is placed in a special vinyl and vacuumed.
There were 3 large carbon crepes.
It is molded using temperature and pressure.
Everything is computer controlled and managed to manufacture products with accurate quality.
I was asking what the long extra part under the helmet is.
The answer is the attachment to be attached to the machine in the next process.
The next step is a large machine that uses a water jet to cut off excess parts and make holes.
This machine was really big and I was surprised.
Actually, the position of the very small hole in the previous product was slightly incorrect.
I was very impressed with the accuracy of this machine.
This is the final assembly location.
Each item will be assembled according to its specifications.
This photo was taken to show how well balanced the helmet is.
It's perfectly stable.
The good thing about Schuberth helmets is their good balance.
Schuberth's two-wheeled carbon helmets are also produced at this factory.
Of course, there were also inspection facilities such as FIA drop inspection and combustion test.
With my boss Alberto
Importer'smonocolle We will do our best to further popularize Schuberth's 4-wheel and racing kart helmets!
